Goldie Hawn Surgery

Her 2005 autobiography "A Lotus in the Mud" reportedly reveals that Goldie has in fact undergone breast augmentation in addition to frequenting cosmetic doctors for skin smoothing injections (perhaps laser resurfacing or Botox).

She has expressed her surprise in a 1992 edition of People magazine (vol.37 No.3):

"Why would somebody want to talk about plastic surgery? I don’t think it’s anybody’s business."

Goldie Hawn may occasionally fall victim to another celebrity plastic surgery rumor-mill but she has been allowed to age gracefully. This is attributed to her healthy lifestyle and not multiple trips under the knife.

Many are left wondering, though, with those beautifully arched cheekbones and full lips, if the iconic actress has in fact gone under the knife for some touch up work.

The overall consensus seems to be, that even if she has in fact had some work done, it’s not over the top and she is still as beautiful as ever.

On the other hand though, weighing 115 pounds at 5’6”, Goldie Hawn would appear to be a more likely candidate for touch up work on facial features and not more invasive procedures like liposuction.

Besides what was told in her autobiography, Goldie Hawn has managed to keep her surgery secrets under wraps while keeping the words true "less is more."

Dr. Paul S. Nassif has been quoted on MakeMeHeal.com stating "Goldie Hawn may have had filler injected to her lips, as they do appear more pouty in certain photos. Overall, if filler was injected, it was not too overdone. Her look still appears natural."

The "trout pout" look is a nickname given when the filler starts to wear off and a noticeably uneven effect is left in the injection site. For Goldie Hawn, this may be a result of Restylane or Juvederm.

On the flipside, many Hollywood critics have noted that Goldie Hawn’s face looks much different now than when she started in the film industry. Other critics would claim that some plastic surgery may do her some favors.

Recent pictures show Goldie Hawn with a larger, upper lip and cheekbones that appear to be lifted or possible implants. Her natural glowing beauty shines through, although her skin is showing aging, especially on her neck and chest.

There are plastic surgeons that beleive that Goldie Hawn has gone overboard with plastic surgery! According to celebrity plastic surgeon, Dr. Anthony Youn, who has not treated Goldie Hawn "The actress has looked a tad puffy recently, with cheeks that appear to have been plumped by fat grafting. In addition, some of her wrinkle lines look filled and blunted, likely with an injectable like Restylane. Also, her skin is taut and smooth, a possible result of laser treatments. I suspect that a facelift has contributed to her sharp jaw line, which is unnaturally tight for a 66-year old woman," Dr. Youn added.

While it's more than obvious that Goldie had a lot of work done, the doctor approves of how she did it but considers she should slow down and realize that enough is enough.

"Overall, Goldie looks youthful, happy, and at least 15 years younger than her real age. Even so, I recommend that she let things settle down a bit before having any further treatments. She should stop so she doesn't look like she belongs in the First Wives Club!" Dr. Youn said.

There are some plastic surgeons that don't seem to agree with Dr. Youn's estimation and claim that Goldie doesn’t seem to have had nearly as much plastic surgery as many credit her with. In fact, they suggest that she could likely benefit from some facial procedures to reduce the bags around her eyes and tighten the skin on her neck.

Plastic surgeon Dr Sherrell J Aston says, "In my opinion, Goldie Hawn looks great. With that said, there are several procedures she could do to improve her overall appearance. I would recommend a Face Lift, Neck Lift and Blepharoplasty. Ms. Hawn would also benefit from laser resurfacing to combat years of sun damage. In addition to those surgical procedures I would suggest that she try a diferent hairstyle with a softer color that compliments her facial features and skin tone."

To date, Goldie’s procedures seem to be pretty minor, and likely involve subtle fillers rather than invasive procedures. Instead of drastic plastic surgery, Goldie usually wears concealing make-up and hides flaws behind her signature shaggy mane of golden locks.

Dr. Paul S. Nassif, Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeon at Spalding Drive Cosmetic Surgery says: "Goldie Hawn is not one of the women out there who appears to be overdone with plastic surgery. She may have had some Botox and minor facial work done which is apparent in certain photos, but nothing over the top."

Plastic surgeon Dr. Richard Ellenbogen states: "Goldie Hawn seems to have lost some of that silly grin and sparkle in the eye. There is a joke that goes: in 1950 everybody wanted to look like Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando, but in 2000 nobody wanted to look like Elizabeth Taylor and Marlon Brando. No one can stay young forever. Goldie is one of my favorite actresses. Charles Dickens used to create a hero then spend the rest of the book breaking him down and we do that with celebrities. We judge too sharply…her plastic surgeon should have his picture up and ridiculed, not Goldie…leave her alone."

What do you think?
Has Goldie Hawn gone overboard with plastic surgery?

Ha! Ha! Ha! Mario Diaz Balart is Pissed Off! He Goes to Cry at the Shoulders of the FEMINAZIS @ The Huff Po

“I’m exceedingly disappointed,” Rep. Mario Diaz-Balart (R-Fla.), told The Huffington Post. “He refused to meet with any members of the opposition. He refused to speak out in any real way against forced abortions. He refused to speak out against the human trafficking that is sponsored by the regime. He refused to condemn the human rights violations in any meaningful way. And it cannot be said that he’s not aware of those issues ... He is aware of it because a lot of us have made him aware of it.”

My advice to Mario: GO SUCK AN EGG!

Millions join general strike in Spain

Published by the International Committee of the Fourth International (ICFI)

By Vicky Short
30 March 2012

Yesterday’s general strike against new labour laws imposed by the right-wing Popular Party government was backed by millions.

The two main union federations, the Socialist Party (PSOE)-aligned General Workers Union (Union General de Trabajadores, UGT), and the Communist Party (PCE)-led Workers Commissions (Comisiones Obreras, CC.OO) estimated that the stoppages were supported by 77-80 percent of the workforce. Many more people, unemployed, school children, housewives and students used it as a vehicle to protest government cuts and austerity measures.

Mass stoppages took place in industry, transport and services. The walkout hit road, rail and air service with barely any domestic or European flights in operation.

Nissan, Seat, Ficosa and Valeo and the petrochemical factory in Tarragona were shut down as well as Yamaha, Derbi and Panrico. The PSA Peugeot Citroën plant was opened, but with about 10 percent attendance. In Navarre, factories such as Volkswagen, FCC Logística, Human Koxka, TRW, Kybse and Dana were paralysed. Factories near Madrid closed down. Industry, ports and shipyards in Galicia were idle.

Although the trade unions had agreed minimum transport services of 30 and 35 percent, huge queues formed in all cities. The unions report that 91 percent supported the strike on the railways.

Around 30 percent of bank workers struck. The big stores such as El Corte Ingles opened under heavy police protection, but there were few customers. Refuse collection stopped the night before and though a minimum service was agreed, most containers remained full.

Minimum services allowed hospitals to function, but in many hospitals there were incidents between strikers and those who scabbed. Public buildings were under heavy police guard.

The stoppage was massive at universities all over the country. Libraries were closed. Calling for unity with workers, students marched with banners that read, “Education Rest In Peace”. Masses of workers and young people filled the streets, halting traffic in main streets and roads.

In total, 111 demonstrations and rallies took place around the country.

The police were out in force. Police attacks on strikers led to dozens of arrests and injuries.

Trade union spokesmen referred to “situations of intimidation”, “police provocation” and “unjustified aggression”. The UGT’s 64-year-old Secretary of Training and Employment, Juan Jose Couso Ferreira, had to receive medical attention for wounds to his eyebrow, nose and arm. A cameraman was arrested as early as 6 a.m. An attack on a man in an electric wheelchair was filmed.

The new changes in the labour law go much further and deeper than those agreed between the PSOE government and the trade unions in September 2010, opposition to which also forced the unions to call a general strike. Many of these changes are already in operation, as the government unilaterally implemented them in February by decree.

All workers will eventually have to sign a contract which will limit severance pay to just 33 days for each year worked, with a limit of 24 months for unfair dismissal, as opposed to the present 45 days of severance pay, with a limit of 42 months. If layoffs are “financially driven”, companies only need to pay 20 days’ wages.

Companies are given the freedom to reduce working hours without having to apply to the Employment Authority and to reduce the number of employees depending on profitability, as well as redeploy them to other towns. People who are registered in unemployment offices and receiving benefits will be forced to “carry out services of general interest in the benefit of the community” through agreements with the Public Administrations.

Young people will be forced onto cheap labour “training” contracts. After they have finished one, they can be forced onto another, and so on, until the age of 30.

The law undermines collective national agreements and allows agreements by company. Congress has already approved the new labour law, and the Senate voted yesterday in the middle of the general strike.

Today’s budget announcement is expected to bring in further and much wider austerity measures.

Despite the massive response and militancy of Spanish workers, the unions are insistent that all they want are modifications and concessions from the government that would aid them in imposing the measures on the working class.

UGT’s leader Cándido Méndez said, “We are convening the strike because we have to connect it with the parliamentary debate which is now reaching the high point of amendments. The general strike is not an end in itself, it is a means to correct.”

CC.OO’s leader Ignacio Fernández Toxo defended the unions’ record of collaboration in the attacks on Spanish workers. “The country was in need of more compromises, but quite honestly I don’t think that anyone can accuse the UGT and CC.OO that we have not made considerable efforts”, he said.

Toxo elaborated on the unions’ record of betrayal: “In the midst of the longest and deepest crisis that Spanish society has known in decades, we have signed three agreements that I think have had an insufficient appreciation. We have repeated in January the salaries (agreement) of 2010, correcting its contents while it was still in force. And also we made an agreement on pensions the likes of which does not exist in Europe. We have put forward proposals in 2011 on the eve of the election such as progressive fiscal reform ...”

Méndez added, “If we haven’t reached more agreements it is because they haven’t let us. We have had three agreements during the crisis and two strikes; three to two.”

At a press conference yesterday, he stated, “We have to look for a compromise with the government so that we can row in the same direction.”

Toxo added, “They have forced a general strike. I hope that this will be sufficient.”

The PSOE Parliamentary Group issued a statement supposedly in support of the strike, but focusing on a denunciation of the PP for not negotiating with the unions.

Minister of Labour Fátima Báñez replied that the government was open to proposals as far as the improvement and amplifications of the legislation was concerned, but the reforms were not going to be changed, strike or no strike. Asked about the brutal actions of the police, she said the government was elected to guarantee the right of those who want to strike and those who want to work.

The Madrid government delegate, Cristina Cifuentes, declared that “there are three groups with about one thousand people who are intending to mount riots in the centre of the city. They are being controlled by the police.”

The PP has received a big setback in two regional elections this week, and Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy has been accused by the European Union of going too softly on the cuts in response. Rajoy had hoped that a big majority, particularly in Andalucia (the biggest region in Spain), would have given him the clout to say that his next plan of drastic austerity measures had the backing of the country. But despite the setback, he is under orders to step up the attacks on workers. The EU will be sending officials in April to make sure he does not back pedal in the wake of the strike.

In industrial action in Athens the same day, thousands of protesters, including doctors, nurses and administrative staff marched on the Greek parliament.

Alfredo Despaigne Ties Single-Season Cuban Home Run Record, 33 Home Runs

Baseball America

Posted Mar. 28, 2012 4:54 pm by Ben Badler

Granma left fielder Alfredo Despaigne hit two home runs today, giving him 33 on the season and tying the record for the most home runs ever in a Serie Nacional season, set last year by Cespedes and Cienfuegos first baseman Jose Abreu.

Despaigne, 25, has nine more games left in the regular season to reclaim the single-season home run mark for himself, which he did in 2008-09 when he hit 32 home runs and won his first of two consecutive MVP awards. Despaigne entered today hitting .345/.496/.732 in 79 games, ranked second in OBP and slugging. Despaigne could challenge for his third MVP, though Abreu, the 25-year-old reigning MVP, entered the day hitting .391/.538/.782 with 26 homers in 75 games. A righthanded hitter, Despaigne is only 5-foot-9 but he is thickly built and has been a standout player in Cuba since his junior national team days, playing for the Cubans at the 2008 Olympics and the 2009 World Baseball Classic, among other tournaments.

Still entering the prime of his career, Despaigne has already established a track record as one of Cuba's most accomplished hitters. Pretty soon he could have the home run record all to himself.

Marilyn Monroe Mental Illness

In 1961, Marianne Kris, the psychoanalyst treating Marilyn Monroe, was convinced that her famous patient was on the verge of suicide. So she did what most psychiatrists at the time would have done: She committed Monroe to a mental institution.

Knowing that Marilyn would never go to a psychiatric hospital on her own— Monroe was terrified of sanitariums because her mother lived in one for most of her life and her grandmother had died in one— Kris told Monroe that she was going to a private hospital for some "rest and relaxation.

" It was under these false pretenses that Monroe arrived at New York's Payne Whitney hospital on February 5th, where she was quickly escorted by orderlies through several steel doors, then forcibly thrown into a padded room with barred windows. "I'm locked up with these poor nutty people," Monroe wrote to her acting teachers Paula and Lee Strasberg. "I'm sure to end up a nut too if I stay in this nightmare. Please help me."

This episode, well-known to Marilyn followers, is recounted again in the new best-selling biography, "The Secret Life of Marilyn Monroe". The author, J. Randy Taraborrelli, writes that a Payne Whitney intern who visited Monroe after she tried to break down the bathroom door in her room told her, "You are a very, very sick girl. And you've been sick for a long time."

Taraborrelli's 541-page biography is based on more than a decade of research and includes quotes from FBI files released in 2006 through the Freedom of Information Act, unpublished accounts from reporters' notebooks from the 1950s and letters to, from and about Monroe that have never before been published. Of course he promises discoveries that are "explosive”" and "revelatory," but there aren’t really any, not a to a Marilyn obsessive like myself. Instead, there is the deepening of the much more ordinary tragedy that continues to fascinate, about a woman Taraborrelli calls "a brave soldier in a devastating battle with her own mind."

Taraborrelli delves into the early relationships that shaped Norma Jeane Mortenson, including her relationship with her mother, Gladys Baker, a paranoid schizophrenic. He also uncovers evidence that suggests that, beginning in her late teens, Monroe heard voices and believed she was being followed. This would mean that her psychosis likely predated her meteoric rise to fame and her descent into drug addiction. In, fact that’s not all that surprising given her family history.

The book does not delve into what is to me the most interesting about Monroe's mental illness: the unorthodox relationship Marilyn shared with Ralph Greenson, the psychiatrist who was treating her at the time of her death. Greenson was a brilliant and flamboyant analyst who treated several famous actors (Vivien Leigh, Frank Sinatra, Tony Curtis) and wrote the seminal text "The Technique and Practice of Psychoanalysis".

Greenson believed his patient, haunted by her abandonment as a child, would benefit from spending time with a stable, happy family. So he chose the closest family at hand, his own. After daily—sometimes twice daily— sessions in his private home office in Santa Monica, Marilyn would often join the Greenson family for meals or just to hang out; she attended parties there (once showing up for Greenson's daughter's birthday celebration and teaching the guests how to do the twist) and, Taraborrelli claims, she even spent the night on occasion.

Taraborrelli, who has penned biographies of Michael Jackson and Elizabeth Taylor, among others, is more measured about Greenson than many Monroe chroniclers, some of whom have claimed he was directly responsible for her passing. "[I]n the 1950s and 1960s all sorts of vanguard treatments for mental illness were being tested," he writes. Greenson's methods were roundly criticized by his colleagues, and he was despised by most of Monroe's friends, many of whom beleived he was a Svengali who was manipulating the vulnerable and insecure actress. "You are seeing too much of that guy," Marilyn's close friend Pat Kennedy Lawford told her, according to Taraborelli. "He's got you under a spell or something."

Greenson was indeed territorial with his patient. He installed a housekeeper, Eunice Murray, at Monroe's Brentwood home and instructed her to keep watch over the actress and report any dangerous or suspicious behavior to Greenson. The psychiatrist even intervened in Monroe's business negotiations!

For example, when she was on the verge of being fired by 20th Century Fox for missing so many days of work on the (never completed) film "Something's Got to Give", Greenson personally guaranteed the director that Marilyn would arrive to set promptly and ready to act. (He couldn't keep this promise, though; Monroe was so depressed and drugged out at this time that she was eventually fired.)

Perhaps the most fascinating wrinkle in the Greenson-Monroe story was unveiled in August 2005, when the "Los Angeles Times" published a front-page story about the discovery of "secret tapes" that Monroe allegedly made for Greenson shortly before her death. The transcripts of these tapes were given to the Times by former L.A. prosecutor John W. Miner, who investigated Monroe's death. Miner, now in his 90s, stated that Greenson allowed him to listen to the tapes and take notes on the condition that he never reveal their contents. Miner kept his promise for 30 years but was moved to go public in an attempt to clear Greenson's name after a Monroe biographer accused him of ordering a sleeping medication that proved fatal in combination with the Nembutal that was already in her system.

The transcripts are peppered with many headline-making bits, including Marilyn's confession that she had a lesbian affair with Joan Crawford, an admission that sex with ex-husband Arthur Miller was only "so-so," and her intention to break things off with her paramour, then-Attorney General Robert Kennedy. But beyond these juicy details, what the tapes prove most profoundly is that Marilyn's relationship with her analyst was bizarre, complicated, and, it would seem, filled with love. "Ever since you let me into your home … I've thought about how it would be if I were your daughter instead of your patient …. I know you couldn't do it while I'm your patient, but after you cure me, maybe you could adopt me," said the woman who had spent her entire life in a conscious and unconscious quest to replace the man who had abandoned her before she was born.
But it gets even weirder.

If Marilyn saw Greenson as a father figure, this was a daddy who taught her how to have "the greatest pleasure there is," an orgasm. "You said … that when I did exactly what you told me to do I would have an orgasm and that after I did it to myself and felt what it was, I would have orgasms with lovers." Clearly, theirs was a case of transference and countertransference run amok. (For his part, Taraborrelli reviewed Miner's handwritten transcripts and believes Miner to be a "very nice, congenial man" who would have "no reason to lie," but finds Miner's "explanation that he reconstructed his copious notes from memory is troubling.")

Today, Greenson would surely have his license pulled, and his mug would be splashed on the cover of the New York Post and on TMZ. Still, the task before Greenson was Herculean. He was essentially charged with treating someone who was untreatable, a borderline paranoid schizophrenic (his diagnosis), someone who was suicidal and could procure the prescription drugs she was addicted to from any number of sources—but who couldn't be institutionalized. In notes about Monroe's case that Taraborrelli references, Greenson writes that he felt he had to keep her from being "committed once again, for I know she won't survive it a second time."

The "truth" of Marilyn Mornroe's relationship with her psychiatrist Ralph Greenson will always remain open to interpretation; Greenson died in 1979 and while his papers are housed in a special collection at UCLA, most of the documents pertaining to his treatment of Monroe have been sealed until 2039. Undoubtedly, he crossed all kinds of lines in his attempts to help Monroe, and may have even damaged her further.

Most of the times we tend to look for an external villain to explain Marilyn Monroe's tragic life and death. We blame the Hollywood fame machine, the wrong husbands, the Kennedys, and Ralph Greenson, too. But there is no villain in this sad tale. At the heart of the story, there is something much simpler: A very, very sick girl. What do you think?

Fidel Castro and Benedict XVI Meet in Havana

Havana, Mar 28 (Prensa Latina) Cuban Revolution leader Fidel Castro, and Pope Benedict XVI met in this capital on Wednesday, shortly after a mass officiated by the Supreme Pontiff to hundreds of thousands of people.

According to The Vatican´s spokesman, Federico Lombardi, the 30-minute meeting held at the Apostolic Nunciature in Havana was carried out very cordially.

In a statement to reporters at the National Hotel´s press room, Lombardi said that they talked about the current world situation, as well as topics related to science, culture, and technology.

Benedict XVI and Fidel Castro also talked about the Church liturgy and its changes in the last decades, added the spokesman.

According to Lombardi, the Pope also expressed his joy for being in Cuba and expressed gratitude for the welcome, while Fidel Castro showed interest for the work of a Supreme Pontiff.

The Cuban leader met with John Paul II fourteen years ago, in which was then the first visit of a Holy Father to Cuba.

Tuesday, Fidel Castro had predicted the possibility of a meeting with Benedict XVI, who concludes today a three-day apostolic trip in the framework of the Jubilee Year for the 400th anniversary of the discovery of the image of the Virgin of La Caridad del Cobre, the patron saint of Cuba.

¿I will be a great pleasure to greet and meet with Pope Benedict XVI on Wednesday, as I did with John Paul II, said Fidel in his most recent reflections.

The head of State of the Vatican City will return to Rome this afternoon, after accomplishing a busy agenda in the Caribbean country.

Piers Morgan Bans Madonna From His UK And US Shows But He Welcomes Her To Twitter !

Piers Morgan is famous for his outlandish views towards celebrities and now Piers has gone a step further by banning Madonna from ever appearing on any of his shows.

Madonna joined Twitter earlier this week.

And the journalist turned chat show host took the opportunity to welcome the singer by hitting out at her.

Piers placed a ban on the pop superstar and tweeted: "Welcome to Twitter.  You're still banned from my show.  Love Piers X."

Piers Morgan didn't embellish on why she has been banned from his show.

But the comment left Madonna's manager Guy Oseary confused, as they received an invite for the singer to appear on his show just in October.

Oseary posted up a copy of the invite letter on his own Twitter page, and wrote to Piers: "Really?"

Piers then quickly explained that he had only banned her from his US CNN show, but the letter had been for an appearance on his UK programme, for which she is now banned too.
He replied: "Madonna has only been banned from my CNN show, not my UK show, which sent that invite. But I'm now banning her from that too.'"

Piers explained last year in an article for the Daily Mail that he didn't want to interview "Madonna on the grounds that she is far more boring and considerably less talented than her new, young doppelganger Lady Gaga."

And he stated last January that she has been "an irritant in my life for 20 years".

But it leaves some confusion as to why he was still happy to interview the star on his UK show up until yesterday, when he left the message for the star.

Representatives for the singer originally fought back when he first banned her from the CNN series, and insisted: "She doesn't even know who he is."

But he spoke out to that reaction last year and claimed: "Madonna obviously thought she was being very clever by reacting to my ban by saying she'd never heard of me,' and added that she was "yesterday's news"."

Ok...I got it! Piers just wants attention and a direct response from Madonna. Madonna always ignores him and that pisses him off! I love the fact that Madonna doesn't give a damn and Oseary responds in her place! He says that she an is irritant in his life for 20 years! That says way too much...What would be Madonna's response if she ever decided to answer?? "Get a life Piers ! "

Dennis Rodman Officially Broke And Extremely Sick !

Former NBA star Dennis Rodman is "extremely sick," "broke" and is in no position to pay hefty child and spousal support payments, according to court documents.

Rodman is behind in his payments and faces a court hearing Tuesday in Orange. He faces up to 20 days in jail for failure to pay spousal and child support, according to an attorney for his ex-wife.

As of March 1, Rodman, 51, owed $808,935 in back child support for the 9- and 10-year-old children that he had with his third wife, Michelle Rodman, said her attorney, Jack Kayajanian, in court documents.

Rodman also owed $51,441 through March 1 in back spousal support, Kayajanian alleged in court documents.

Michelle Rodman, identified in court papers as a Costa Mesa resident, is also requesting attorneys' fees, according to the Daily Pilot.

Dennis Rodman's attorney, Linnea Willis, said in court documents that the former Laker is barely capable of paying for his living expenses, let alone the $5,000 he has for one child from another relationship, and the $4,500 monthly payment for spousal and child support to Michelle Rodman.

The attorneys who have represented him to date have worked pro bono, Willis said.

"Respondent Dennis Rodman is broke and cannot afford any additional fees," according to court documents filed on his behalf.

He is "extremely sick" and his marketability is diminishing with age and illness, according to court documents.

Just for the record, Rodman, who played on championship Chicago Bulls teams with Michael Jordan before coming to theLakers, often led the NBA in rebounds. He has a long history with Newport Beach, whose police were called to his Seashore Drive home in West Newport 80 times during the eight years he lived there.

At the time his third wife filed for divorce, he listed his monthly expenses as more than $30,000, according to a 2004 article in the Los Angeles Times. Michelle Rodman listed her monthly expenses as $17,000.
