The steamroller of Team Cuba continues! On Saturday it defeated Germamy 8-2 based on the excellent relief pitching of Dalier Hinojosa, who captured his first victory of the 39th Baseball World Cup being played in Panama.
Jose Dariel Abreu had a solo homer, and Yullieski Gourriel had an excellent day with three RBI's. The Germans put up a little resistance in the first inning, and scored two runs.

On Saturday the criollos easily defeated Nicaragua by 6-0. Alexei Bell had three RBI's and Castillo, Bell, Cepeda and Abreu contributed with one double apiece. Miguel Lahera conquered his second victory in the tournament.

Cuba was not defeated in Round 1 of the tournament. It accumulated seven straight victories. Tomorrow starts Round 2. The first place winner of group one, Cuba, will play the fourth place winner of group 2, U.S.A. or Puerto Rico. It promises to be a good one.
